I knew I wanted to be a 'real' photographer the day I delivered photos to my friend after our just for fun maternity session. She said that it was the first time throughout her pregnancy that she felt good about how she looked, and that was it. I had always loved photography, but that gave me the courage to take it seriously. I wanted everyone to see themselves as beautiful as I do.

Maternity sessions are still some of my favourite.

With education, preparation, and a whole lot of prayer and persistence, I started building my business. I'm always learning, refining, and working towards an experience that offers more intention, more art, and more heart. (Cheesy, but true.)

MY APPROACH

Photography, Artistry, and Storytelling

I believe some of the most meaningful photos come from letting life unfold naturally...but I also know that what's "real" or "natural" looks different for everyone. Not every moment is wildly emotional or beautifully unscripted, and that's more than okay.

My approach blends documentary storytelling and creativity with  traditional portrait photography. I'm passionate about the moments that aren't staged, the little unprompted times that make up who you really are. The soft smiles, playful glances, subtle touches.  But I also understand the value of the classic “look at the camera and smile” photo, the ones that make it onto your holiday cards and are grandmas favourite. And the times that you want a little extra help with posing. You’ll absolutely get that too. Some galleries lean more candid and documentary, and others are more posed.  In most cases, it's the best of both. It all depends on the energy in front of my camera.

When it comes to wedding days, my role is both supportive and observant. I will step in when needed. I will guide you through portraits so you feel comfortable and confident, and I will make sure your uncle is standing in the right spot when we do family photos. At the same time, I intentionally leave space for the real moments to unfold. The laughter, the nerves, the quiet hand squeezes, the way you look at each other with that "it's our wedding day!" look. The true documentary take. I want you to look at your photos years from now and not just remember the day as something I directed, but to actually feel the emotion you experienced in those moments.

Your gallery is ultimately shaped by you; your connection, your personality, your willingness to be present, and everything else that's before me. Even when I guide with gentle prompts or pose suggestions, how that plays out is always unique to the people in front of my lens. I’ll always offer ideas and step in if something is looking off, but I won’t control every little move or try to push you into anything that doesn’t feel like you.

I love working together to create a gallery that blends timeless portraits with images full of artistry, raw interactions, and honest connection. But I also love when it's simple and traditional, full of smiles and snuggles.

Your photos don't need to fit a certain criteria to be meaningful, because this is your story, not mine.

MY EDITING

COLOURFUL, CREATIVE, AND EXPRESSIVE
wedding photographer, Ontario wedding photographer, paris ontario photography studio, documentary style wedding photography

A huge factor in choosing a photographer that's right for you.

My editing style is almost true to colour, with a slightly 'bolder' feel than real life. I love bringing out the vibrancy that was already there in the moment, especially when it comes to sunsets and skies.

In 2025, I refined my editing style to move away from the warmer look that was often called "sepia-toned". My work now leans more natural and true to life, with greener greens, blacker blacks, whiter whites, and colours that stay accurate to the scene. (See my recent work posted on Instagram or Facebook). This is especially important for wedding days where every colour palette has been thoughtfully chosen.

Overall, your gallery will be crisp, clean, and consistent throughout. I do not add intentional grain to my images, and I aim to maintain a cohesive look across the gallery while still respecting the natural differences between lighting, locations, and environments.

You may notice a few artistic edits sprinkled throughout. These are always included in addition to the bulk of images edited in my standard style. I also include some black and white photos where I feel they create the strongest emotional impact, and I am happy to provide a full black and white version of your gallery if requested.

Minor retouching is included when needed, such as removing background distractions or temporary blemishes, but I avoid heavy modification unless specifically requested.

I have an example image here to show you a quick comparison of an image before and after edits.

You're the author of your story,

I'm just here to publish it.
